| To the two people talking about the Grundy families who lived on Windsor Road. There were two families. At number 68 Windsoe Road there was the family of Charles and Alice Grundy. Their children are Shirley, Jim, Billy (who drowned at the brickworks) Bob, Norman and Arthur. The other family that lived at 74 Windsor Road was Bob and Lizzy Grundy and their children, Maureen, Brenda, Avis (who passed away in 19990 and Edith and May. The little wooden hut at the first airey house was a sweet shop. The only family belonging to the Grundy side that lived in the airey houses were the Hunsleys whos mum was a Grundy sister to Charles and Bob Grundy. How do I know is because I am Edith Grundy now Stokes daughter of Bob and Lizzy |

| hi, i am trying to find my grandmas and my great grandmas fathers in my family tree. On both their birth certificates it does not name any father, but on their marriage certificates it names william ramsey as their father. My grandmas mum was called sarah jayne pleasant, born 1873, and her mum was called Sarah pleasant, formerly thorp. Sarah Jane gave birth to my grandma Alice Mary in the Union Workhouse, Thorne. It also shows for Sarah Jane that she was born in Crowle. I know that Sarah Jayne Pleasant worked at Carlton Farm when she was 17, but then i cannot find her in the census, until she married a John Astley in 1906. Somewhere along the line my grandma, Alice Mary Pleasant took the name Ramsey because my mums and her siblings have their mothers name as Ramsey, but yet i cannot find a marriage between pleasant and ramsey. Please can anyone HELP |
